NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENT: Formula totals for last week were mixed, higher in Nebraska,
about steady in Texas, but slightly lower in Kansas: KS 77,435(-686), NE
76,141(+22,214), TX 79,022(+46). Total trade volume are also mixed, higher
in Nebraska, but lower in Kansas and Texas: KS 86,720(-1,760), NE
97,895(+21,231), TX 84,018(-1,763). New showlists appear to be mixed,
somewhat higher in Kansas, somewhat lower in Texas, and lower in
Nebraska/Colorado. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established, and
significant trade volume has yet to be established.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 283.54 +0.19, Select 273.61
+1.17), with light box movement (28.51 lds of choice cuts, 4.81 lds of
select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 4.64 lds of ground). Cattle futures at
the top of the noon hour are mixed, mostly modestly lower on live
contracts, feeder issues are also mixed.
